A memory that I will never forget!

Tonight I was helping guests who had wheelchair access to see Illiminations tonight when fate had brought me to a family that I will never forget. The family did not have a wheelchair but their grand/daughter could not see very well due to a certain eye disease that was taking her vision away. Her name is Katie (and I did NOT change her name!) Katie looked about 6-7 years old when she and her grandmother came over to me to make sure it was alright to stay inside the wheelchair area for the show. At fist I wasn't sure but I used my better judgement and let the family in.

During the time to wait for the show, I decided to let Katie play with some bubbles that I bought just for the waiting part of the show. She had a very fun time playing with them and while we were playing, Angel (real name too) was actually training with a new cast member tonight with me. He went and got a surprise for Katie and told her that Mickey got her a certificate for free ice cream! She was in all smiles at this point but it was about to get even better!

Due to Katie's eye sight going away, I had told her that there was some very powerful pixie dust that Tinkerbell and Rapunzel gave to go give to her. I had her close her eyes and when I had applied the pixie dust I sang out in the public hearing, the healing song from Tangled! Fist time I had the guts to actually sing for others to enjoy and boy did Katie enjoy the song. Her family was on the verge of tears, Angel and the new cast member were too, and I was trying SO hard not to lose my emotions while I was singing to her.

During the show I made her little experience even better! I had her help me light up the countries along with her family and other guests. They were all excited and thrilled to have this magical moment with me. Once it was all over and I was telling guests good night Katie gave me a HUGE hug and thanked me for the memories! Her grandmother personally thanked me for making their family trip more special and that they would always treasure the moments I had with Katie forever!

When I had to go wave good-bye to the guests with special Buzz Lightyear hands, Kaite actually saw me in on her way out and she HAD to come say good-bye to me! That alone made my day and to know that she now holds a dear sweet place in my heart, and I hope that she will never forget me in return! THESE are the reasons at to WHY I work for Disney World! You never know who or what can surprise you!

Liiving with a bunch of crazy messed up tour groups

So the past few weeks have been a living nightmare! There are TONS of groups that come from South America to be away from the winter time there and go all cray cray here at Disney World. I was working today with a fellow cast member when there was a HUGE group of about 50-60 teenagers from S.A. chanting VERY LOUD! The fellow cast member told me that they had been warned not to do that but they were still going at it.

When the group came back 30 minutes later, they were chanting very loud yet again. This point we had quite enough of it and my fellow cast member *James (name changed) came over to them and spoke in Spanish to them they had to stop. Without ANY warning they flooded over to our station and were within inches of our faces chanting like crazy wild animals.

I was scared out of my mind because not only did it frighten me but I was having a lot of signs in my body say to me "you need to protect yourself from these crazy wild animals and FAST!" Thankfully James got one of the coordinators online to hear what was going on and hoped that they would get security to come over soon. But as much as we had hoped that would happen, the help we needed did not come fast enough.

After the group left, my body was freaking out on me because I was not prepared for that to happen and I was thrown into a very shocking mess that almost made my body  go into a panic attack from that. When I had to help clear out the park I was beyond exhausted due to having my body FINALLY relax from the event that happened about 4 hours before.

So if ANY of you whop are thinking of coming to Disney World during June-August, DO NOT PLAN YOUR TRIP THAT TIME PERIOD!!!! You might just run into a bunch of crazy messed up fruit loops like the tour group that I had to experience today at work with. So just to warn you all of you think of coming during that time frame, you might not get the Disney experience you wanted in the first place.

The 4th of July life at EPCOT

Yesterday was amazing at work! When I got to work yesterday I was just chillin' out in the back with my fellow agents when I had noticed a piece of paper on the wall with my name on it. It was a four key element card from forever ago when EPCOT was in a testing phase for a new idea they are thinking of. Not sure if it worked or not. It was so cool to finally get one of those cards!

Latter on during my day, I was over by United Kingdom when two guests came over to me and my fellow cast member Ronnie about them losing their hotel keys in the theme park. The poor father was very upset because not only did he lose his hotel card and his sons but it was also his birthday yesterday. I felt so bad for him and his son and so Ronnie and I decided to take action in finding a way to make sure that they have a better experience while they were at Disney World.

The father was very stressed and I told him that I would take his son to go get brand new hotel keys and make sure the ones that were lost would be canceled. When I took the son to go get new keys, he was asking me so many questions as to what Ronnie and I were saying. I told him that a lot of our higher agents were all called Agent 10 just to be safe so that Maleficent and Dr. Doofenshmirtz wouldn't know who was who in our agency. The little boy's eyes light up and thought that was amazing.

When we got to the window for Guest Relations, we were able to get them two new keys and the cast member gave the son a card for two free ice cream treats. When we got back the father was very happy and told Ronnie and I this: "...in the past 15 years of going to any Disney theme park, I have never seen Guest Service to my family and I until know. I will never forget you two, thank you for helping my son and I to have a wonderful time today." Just hearing that was enough to make me feel amazing and knowing that I love doing what I do here at Disney so that others can enjoy their time here.
